Reon
Motorsport was fronted in 1967 by Mike Read and
Roy Carrington, the team designed, built and raced single seater
and sports cars for 3 to 4 years before Roy left to pursue his
career in mechanical engineering.
Mike
Read continued racing cars at club level in sports
and saloon cars before turning to single seaters in the late eighties/early
nineties, racing initially in formula Vee, then formula ford 2000
and finally F3.
By
1995, Mike had decided to scale back his driving
activities to begin running cars for racers without the facilities
or time for car preparation and set up.
The
business has grown year by year and the team has
progressed from its club origins to running cars in national racing
formulae, whilst remaining committed to the clubman.
